SpellPath
A Chrome extension I'm building that turns a topic into a short, interactive learning story. It isn't a chatbot tutor: the choices you make in the story decide what you learn next.
SpellPath isn't publicly available yet. A private, invite-only build is in Chrome Web Store review. It isn't sold as a subscription.
What it does
- You enter a topic you want to understand.
- SpellPath writes a short story where the topic matters to what happens, with a small cast that stays consistent from scene to scene.
- At each fork, your choice steers which part of the subject the story explores.
- A quick question checks the idea from that part of the story before you move on.
How it's built
- Story state lives in code. The software tracks the characters and plot between scenes, so each new scene continues the same story instead of starting over.
- Separate steps with separate jobs. Planning, writing, and style editing run as distinct passes, which makes each one easier to test and fix.
- Rules enforced in code. When an instruction to the AI proves unreliable, the rule moves into the code as a validation check or a retry.
- Tested on real sessions. Changes are checked against complete exported stories, not single prompts.
- A complete product. A Chrome extension, a hosted Node API, and Google sign-in, built and deployed end to end.
Working together
SpellPath is an example of the work I take on: designing AI features that stay consistent and accurate, and shipping them as products people can install and use. If you're building something similar, get in touch.
